Yes, folks, this site is still up and running and I haven't deserted it yet. While there does not seem to be much action occuring in the forum itself, you'll note that to the left I have installed a "Tweetboard" where you can read and respond to my twitter messages from this very site.

Seems like this could be pretty nifty!

I have finally added my blog to this site!

Admittedly, the blog is full of my personal thoughts, feelings, and opinions and is not directly connected to the non-partisan nature of this site itself. I've been looking for a personal outlet for some time now and am thinking this might do the trick.

Alright, so we all have our good days and we all have our bad days.

Today was one of my bad days. In trying to update the MySQL database, I accidently screwed up the BB Configuration. As a result, phpBB3 won't connect to it.

This is bad because it means all the data from the old board is inaccessible. Well, inaccessible might be a strong word - what I mean is that it is inaccessible to me with my limited knowledge and my desire to make things run smoothly.

So I reinstalled the forums on a clean database. The good news is that this means the forums should run a lot more smoothly than it has in the past, since everything has been configured for this exact database. This was not the case with the old board.

The bad news is that you are going to have to create new user accounts. I apologize for the inconvenience - I'm not particularly happy about it myself. I am also sorry that your posts are gone as well... (thankfully, there were not very many yet).

At any rate, it is my hope that you will continue to support Snarkbate and help to make it the best debate forum on the web!

I think it is safe to say that the biggest problem plaguing this site (the MySQL problem) has been resolved. If anyone has any problems, contact me at webmaster@snarkbate.com.

In other news, my blog is up and running! There is not much there, but it can be accessed via the link on the left!

Snarkbate finally has a paid server!

This obviously is good news. A great many of the problems this site has been having are the result of an SQL databasing error. Paid web hosting should resolve this matter.

Even if it is not fixed immediately, the good news is that we now have grounds for complaint. We are very happy about this turn of events.

Today we launched the new format for our site!

While perhaps not the most spectacular of designs, I designed everything you see from scratch in a text editor. This is impressive, as far as I am concerned, considering that I knew next to nothing about most of the techniques I used until just a few days ago.

Expect the new features which have shown up to be slowly implemented over the next few days - I am looking forward to getting them all set up!
